Paige Acklie

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Background:  With a background in soccer, running, and dance, I have always been invested in the impact of exercise on one’s overall health. This interest led me to pursue a major in Exercise Physiology and Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Marquette. In my Physiology course I was introduced to the concept of muscle fatigue and became interested in research as a way to increase my knowledge of muscle physiology and become a better clinician in my future career. I had the opportunity to begin shadowing in the Integrative Muscle Physiology Lab in the Spring of 2024 and have greatly increased my understanding of whole muscle function and the physiology of individual muscle fibers.

Outside the Lab: Outside the lab I enjoy lifting, playing intramural sports, traveling, and exploring the Milwaukee area. I also tutor anatomy on campus and work as a physical therapy technician during breaks from school.
